We will also be holding Council Elections. Please have your delegates available to vote. After the elections, I have invited Pelekikena Hailama Farden to provide an update on the 2020 Convention.

We will begin our meeting at 9 am with Haliʻa Aloha. Elections of the Council Board and Association representatives will follow. Instructions on the process is described below and in the attached nominations committee report. At 10 am Hailama will provide an update on the Association Convention.
A note about Elections (refer to the attached nominations report)
1st Election will be voted by the Hawaiian Civic Clubs on the Island of O’ahu as represented on the Council by the President and Permanent member or its designee club member, the officers and director of the council. (KOOK Constitution; ratified July 13, 2013; Article 5) – 64 eligible votes.
2nd Election will be voted by the delegates named by the Hawaiian Civic Clubs organized on the Island of O‘ahu to represent such clubs at the Annual Convention of the Association of Hawaiian Civic Clubs meeting in pre-convention caucus prior to the Annual Convention. (KOOK bylaws; ratified July 13, 2013; article 3, section 1 & past practice) – 151 eligible votes.
The nominations may be taken from the floor with final consent from the nominee and requirements as stated in our constitution and by-laws (ratified July 13, 2013). A unanimous vote will be used when only one name/candidate is presented for nomination by casting one vote by the recording secretary. (RRO; p.443.7)
Elections will be done by ballot in the “Election Runner Application,” should someone be nominated from the floor. Each eligible voter is required to submit via Zoom chat box to ʻUmi Jensen the following:
- Name – First and Last Name: ex. Kimo Kealoha
- Create a User/Voter Identifier: ex. Kimokealoha808
- Create a password: ex. eolamau#808
- A valid e-mail address: ex. Kimokealoha808@gmail.com
- Contact phone: ex. 808.222.4545 (Should Umi needs to clarify information from you)
Only those eligible voters present to the zoom call on Saturday, October 10, 2020 (Council meeting), to be allowed to vote. Only one vote per person and each person must have their own email address to cast their vote.
For the 2nd Elections, all 25 clubs must submit their list of delegates via e-mail to Alberta Low and Shelly Hao-Tamon by Monday, October 12, 2020. A test email will be sent out to all submitted eligible delegates. Please submit the above information and all delegates MUST have their own email to vote for the second election. Elections will take place next weekend Saturday, October 17, 2020; 12:00 A.M. to Sunday, October 18, 2020; 12:00 P.M.
