I wanted to update you on a number of activities honoring Prince Jonah Kūhiō Kalanianaʻole this month.
Lei Draping
Please join us for a lei draping at Kūhiōʻs statue on Friday, March 26th at 10 am. An open lei is preferred. Please RSVP to aunty Toni Lee (parade.lady001@gmail.com).
Prince Kūhiōʻs Guitar
While you are in Waikīkī, please visit the Royal Room, the new home of the Hawaiian Music Hall of Fame. Prince Kūhiōʻs guitar will be on display. Other activities include Mele Kahalepuna Chun demonstrating feather work (noon-2 pm). The Royal Room is located at 226 Lewers Street, L-206 (2nd floor). Free parking at the Embassy Suites or Wyndam Vacation Resorts on March 26th.
Lei Aliʻi
The Council for Native Hawaiian Advancement is continuing their series on Prince Kūhiō. This Friday, Dr. Davianna McGregor will talk about ʻAhahui Puʻuhonua and the beginning of the Hawaiian Civic Clubs (flyer is attached). If you missed Manuʻs presentation or Kalaniʻs talk, you can view them at www.leialii.org.
Aliʻi Sunday
Kawaiahaʻo church is now allowing gatherings and you are encouraged to join us for Aliʻi Sunday, March 21st at 8:30 am. You must register your name or group here. Please meet at the steps at 8:00 am. You can rsvp to aunty Teri Loo (teriloo76@gmail.com).
